Hi there peeps,
I have a quick question regarding my door locks. I use my key fob almost exclusively and found my door locks needing some lubrication. Driver door lock is not turning at all and passenger door lock is kinda sticky. What lube do you guys use for this?

KY seems to work for me.

Actually, I've never seen a door lock cylinder requiring lubrication of any kind on really any of the cars I've used...including an Olds from '89 that extremely rarely had any action with the key.

Do you know that they just need to be lubed up, or have you checked for anything binding or otherwise catching the lock cylinder inside the door?

Well I haven't actually taken anything apart as of yet. I figured I would try the lubricant as my first line of attack...heheh. I was thinking maybe some type of silicone spray or tri-flow or something. I'm thinking it's stuck mainly due to the passenger side appears to be heading in that direction.

wd40 like vlasic suggested, but i would follow it with either a silicone or light oil. wd40 penetrates through corrosion but it is not an oil, so it dries out and some sort of lubrication will still be needed.

i use auto trans fluid on many things. it is a thin oil, it has penetrating qualities on rusted bolts and chemicals to prevent buildup. almost as good as 3 in 1 oil.
