I just purchased powerslot slotted rotors and bendix premium iq semi-metalic pads...will they be a good combo and how do these rotors work?

You already bought them.... use them...

should work fine ... almost any brake pad other than the stock pads are going to be better with the exception of those "lifetime warantee" $25 pads you see at the local big chain autoparts stores.

Are stock pads really THAT bad? I haven't put on the Poterfields that I have yet but I can't really complain about OEM pads. They seem to last long, stop OK, and don't squeal.

Brake pads

My pads were squeeking about 5k miles ago and all of a sudden stopped. I had them checked at the dealer and said there was 3mm on the front and 9 mm on the back. Is this a lot of pad left?

stock brakes are kinda bad taht's for sure...

If you don't want to spend $1k-ish for the full Fastbrakes wilwood right now, hang on a while... Brian is coming up with a kit that uses stock calieprs + larger rotors. This should reduce the cost a good bit and with aftermarket pads, will provide a nice improvement over stock.

Should work fine, although I'd break in the pads on your old rotors first. (see www.se-r.net or SoCal-SERCA on groups.yahoo.com 's archive for why)

I remembered how when I first got my car... I thought the brakes were great. Then, about 3 months later, I had a hard time stopping at the line on intersections... It's not just me cuz my friend also bought one as a package deal... same thing on that car too...

Stock pads are pretty pathetic. The other day, I had to emergency stop, good thing there was a shoulder, because by the time I stopped, I was at the guy's front doors. Now there was plenty of distance and I wasn't travelling very fast as I was anticipating sudden stops at this particular location because it happens ALL the time. But damn, the car just wouldn't stop. scary.
