I am looking to buy a '97+ max. I prefer to get an SE, however, I prefer the front end look of the GXE (no fogs). I was wondering how difficult it is to remove the fogs from the SE to make the front spoiler look like a GXE. Also after removing the fogs will i run into any cosmetic problems such as screw holes or fog mounts?

I am not sure if this will answer you question but here goes. I had a 97 GLE without fogs and put fogs on it. The one difference between stock and if I took the fogs off now is the little piece of plastic that went across the fog opening half way down. All of the mounting stuff for the fogs mounts into some metal piece behind the bumper so there are no exterior holes. So yes you should be able to remove them but you can't get the plastic piece back on. Hope this helps.

 

If you really want to get rid of the fogs, I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that would love to trade you their GXE or GLE bumper for your SE bumper and the fog lights.
