is my clutch bad or what? please help me figure out whats wrong.

i really need some help with this, i've got a 96 GXE AUTO, and i do alot of hard driving, i drop my gears and shift manual till drive, lately this thing has ben happening that i cant really explain, its like my car gets stuck on the clutch the it shifts from 2nd-3rd, but only when i am accelarating at about 2000rpm or somewhere about there. its like somethingis hold me from behind, the accelaration feel like it is beeing forced. when i deep the pedal just lil more it pushes off like it is suppose to.
i dont know if its becuase i have been shifting manually or what.
what do u guys think, is it my clutch, my gear cam or what?
thankx fellas

There is no clutch (per say) in an automatic transmission.
Sounds like your hard driving and abuse of the transmission has caused it to fail.

If you want to shift your car manually, go by a 5 speed. For now, get some quotes on a tranny rebuild or try and find a used one, yours is most likely shot.

An automatic tranny is not designed to be shifted manually.

you might be able to extend the life with a fluid change but it will eventually wear it out. Hard driving doesn't help you

Wow:

1) Learn how to type properly. If you can't understand what you wrote, no one else can either, re-read before you post!

2) None of us can really tell you what exactly is wrong. We do not drive your car we do not feel the symptoms you do.

3) Most likely someone in your area who is MORE familiar with maxima's than you should look at it.

4) There is a diagnostic procedure for the automatic transmission if I'm not mistaken, get a service manual and see what you can find out.

i'm going to change my tranny fluid today and see if that helps, because it has been doing a lil better since i stoped all of that manual shifting.

the sawdust mod is putitng sawdust in ur trans fluid to make it thicker so it doesnt slip, its used by shady used car lots to temporyly fix a car to make it sem like tis not broken.Dont do it, its a really bad thing to do. sadly i think its time for a rebuild or swap. id say hit up some junkyards for used parts. theres lots by me with full trans. sure theres soem by u as well
