I read somewhere that manuals have a fuel cut off while your foot is off the petal thus maximizing fuel economy. If you convert your car, do you get the advantages? If not, what else do you need that is not in the 5 Spd swap list in All-Motor?

i was joking.....but i have never heard of an actual electronic fuel cut when u let off the pedal......it might be true with the drive by wire cars

I kinda agree when I let off the throttle it coasts but when I press the gas it kinda jumps

That has nothing to do with your transmission, it's a feature of your engine. There are no differences between the VQ30DE engines coupled with an auto or manual transmission. The FPR is identical on both engines.

This has nothing to do with the FPR, it's just that you're not a very smooth driver yet. When you press quickly on the gas at a low rpm (especially in a high gear), you quickly load up your drivetrain and then you get the "lurching" effect, which will continue if you quickly let off the gas, unloading your drivetrain. It's a fact of life for manual transmissions, you've either got to get used to it or learn to drive more smoothly.

There's a fuel cut-off with you're foot off of the accelerator regardless of the transmission type. This is provided you're in gear above around 1300 RPM. Below that and the ECU goes back into open-loop idle fuel trim.

Not necessarily true?? That info is taken directly from the FSM.

I posted in that thread and the general consensus was that there was a fuel cut during deceleration until around 1300 RPM when the ECU goes into idle fuel trim.
