guage problem

basically what happened was I was driving out of my parking lot and i was moving relatively slowly, but fast enough that the needle on my speedometer should have been moving. But it wasn't. I eventaully got it to 20-25 when all the sudden it jumped up to the actual speed.
I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem?
I haven't any modding to the gauges yet. any thoughts or if I should even worry about it. (I know its not a super big deal cuz its working now, but I like my car )

Did you get a CEL yet? If so, pull your codes. The problem you describe is either with the VSS (vehicle speed sensor), the speedometer guage or the wiring to the guages.
