6 month old battery doesnt start car

alright i got this battery in march or april. And sometimes the car won't start. Whenever I jump start it, the car starts up with no problem. I checked the voltage of the battery. On startup with no headlights at stuff its at a constant 14.7 volts with high beam lights its at 14.375 v. Is it the alternator or what? Is there a way to check if hte alternator is running fine?

hook up a voltage meter to it...but if ur getting a constant 14.7 volts i wouldnt say alternator...unless its wierd and decides to stop working at certain points.....i would double check all connections and terminals to connectivity and corrosion first

ill probably go to autozone and get the alternator, battery, and starter checked out.

i would say its a starter issue...so every now and then your starter is stuck in a dead spot and the extra current, and even just moving the car a bit when you open the hood and place on the cables could cause it to work again...

i find it odd that your battery would show 14.7V with a bad alternator...
