Intake Gasket

So i have searched around and cant find anything...but after putting new brakes and rotors on yesterday i noticed my intake gasket leaking a lil bit on both sides...so i think its time to replace and was curious to find out if anyone had any experience with this on the maxima

you mean the plenum gasket? It's cheap, but not the easiest thing to do.. the gasket is 10 bucks or so.

The gasket is rubber and easy to replace, but pulling the plenum (or getting it loose enough to pop the old one out and new one in) is the tricky part. It's just tedious in that you have to remove a LOT of crap just to get to the plenum. The plenum itself is only held on by 6 bolts - 4 in front and 2 on the rear brackets.

You can get the gasket from a local napa for $15 and an Advanced Auto Parts for $12.99, and it will be there the next day. Autozone dosen't even stock the gasket, so naturally I was pissed when I couldn't get it from work on discount.

a little OT, but what all does it take to remove the IM? i will have an extra that i plan on polishing and replacing so i don't have any down time with the car. is it really a big deal, or more of just a pain with a lot of little bolts and things?
