I like mine.....it so far hasn't shown to cause any problems...

I think some of these guys here have had it for a year or two.....mine has been on since last year

It doesn't gain hp....it frees up some of the hp you already have coming from the crank.

You could go thru probably several vendors,....try Stillen (Adam Hume ext.138 or Dean ext.182) and a bit of haggling (tactfully) may generate a good price. I'm not sure if you can go thru Unorthodox directly or not. Try AvalonRacing or Southwestautoworks.com as other sources.

Yes you can get it from UR directly. They are basin Long Island NY. I don't think they will give you much of a price break though.

What's the exact size of the new pulley ? you could probally get one off the shelf and get it bored and slotted accordingly, for probally 1/4 of the price get me specs and I'll try this, i have access to a workshop where i can do this.

hey, if you could make one that cheap, maybe you could make one for me too!

seriously though, it might be better just to buy one. i think the balance and the strength of the pulley is pretty important... and it'd be pretty difficult to machine one to very high tolerance on those terms.

This most likely won't work. Why would a shop carry a smaller sized pulley that fits a maxima crankshaft, i'm sure they don't even exist. and let's say theoretically, you could get the blank pulleys from UR, you would have to machine the holes PERFECTLY or it would be out of alignment and balance. For 200 shipped with belts, i'll get mine from Coz, and you can break you engine with a homemade replica.

Please explain this. What part of the engine breaks? Why? Have you had first-hand experience with this or is it merely hearsay?

I'd say your crank would be toast with a homemade replica. By drilling out the stock pulley with a drill is far from accurate. If you are simply .05" off on the spacing of your weight saving holes, you can completely throw the pulley out of balance therefore possibly destroying your crank and bearings. Don't forget that the pulley can be spinning up to 6500rpms.

The UDP is made out of aircraft grade alumnium and is made on machines that make airplane parts (the name escapes me right now) therefore the tolerances are extremely close.

thanks dave, saved me the words. That what i was saying just in less words, so now you all know. i believe the machines are CNC machines, the same thing Smith and Wesson use to make exact fit gun parts.

I believe it would be a mistake to try and fabricate one of these homemade style. Mine is a Quality piece and I wouldn't want to take a chance on something like this. Imperections on an exhaust are not equal tp those imperfections we are talking about. When you see the Unorthodox piece you'll see what I mean.

My opinion...
