I just bought a gallon of AMSoil (4 quarts), and the guy says that Maximas use 10 quarts. Is this true? Please advise - thank you!

If your only doing a drain and refill, 4 qts (1 gallon) should be fine.

A flush requires a case (12 qts).

Refer to the fluids and lubricants section of this site for more info on changing your tranny fluid. The stickies on that forum has some good information.

^yep. normally there is about 4 quarts in the pan, about 5 quarts in the torque converter and about 1 quart hanging around somewhere. If your just going to drop the pan, your going to need about 4 quarts.

in the lube section they have a write-up on how to do a flush urself on a 4th gen takes about 10-12 quarts pending how clean you want it.

A lot of ppl are against mixing syn and dino oils. But i ask amsoil themselves and they say its prefectly normal. Should be no problem. When it gets warm out, i'm just going to do a drain and fill every month for 3 months and hopefully i'll get out about 75% of the junk fluid.

Get the tranny up to operating temp by driving it about 5 miles.
Car on level ground, engine running in park, pull the dip stick and look at the level.

There are 2 marks, one says cold, the upper one says hot. It's always best to check it hot.
