ses: o2, bank 1 sensor 2. need info

what does this o2 sensor control?

how urgent is it that i replace it?

is it okay to buy a used one?

how many miles should i look for on it?

how much should i expect to pay?

is $50 labor too high for install?

Did you search?

Still on the original solenoid pack? Nissan has a TSB kit out to replace them. Get it, replace the solenoids, problem solved.

Before that you may want to check the wiring harness.

Why the hell would you bump a 3 year old completely unrelated thread?

you should get that o2 sensor fixed because that basically makes your car run really slow than what it should be running.. and also it makes your car wastes much more gas than usually.. if you have time i suggest you check your knock sensor as well.. since those break in the 4th generation model frequently

Two year old thread, seriously.

Also, B1S2 is post cat, doesn't do a damn thing.

You will definitely need to get it fixed before the next inspection.

Anyway, it is not too hard to do yourself, although you will need a special O2 socket, and be prepared that it could be very tight and hard to remove.

P0150 - o2 Sensor

Hi All,
I was just reading this thread, and saw this discussion, which is the same problem I have been having with my '97 Maxima 5speed.

I had this code appear when my engine light went on. I have put in three new 02 sensors, the first two being aftermarket, the third being a Nissan OEM one. Every time I put one in, after about four or five days, the light comes back on.

Any idea on what issues in the background could be causing this?
Makes the car very hard to drive smoothly, and the fuel mileage is lousy.

Have you tested all the sensors to see whether or not you just happened to get 3 faulty oxygen sensors? Tested the wiring at all?

Repeatedly throwing parts at it is generally the last resort, not the first.

I have a 2000 nissan maxima and the check engine turns on. It hasn't turn off. I went to Auto zone to see what the problem was and they gave me 3 receipts. 2 of the troubleshooting said: P0139 and P1126. What should I do to get it fixed?

Its truly a DIY job. You can use the scissor jack that came with the car, go to wal-mart and get yourself some $20 jack stands to save your life, use some penetrating oil such as PB blaster and it should come off fairly easily. Unless you have rust problems where you live then it could become a pain and some heat will be required. Buy a good o2 sensor ($40 or more) and save yourself some money. Its not hard promise!
