Axle Issues
If anyone has any input on my problem i'd appreicate some advise, I had to replace the passanger side axle about 2 months ago, i got one from napa and put it in, everything was fine for awhile and a few days ago i noticed a bad bad noise, figured maybe wheel bearings or brakes or something along that line so i took the wheel off and the 36mm bolt just fell to the ground when i took the wheel off, so the axle had been flopping around in the hub and was basically able to freely move, i tightened it up took it for a spin, the noise is still there, took it apart once again and noticed the threads on the axle going into the hub looked a bit sloppy and chewed up, so i am figuring i am going to need an axle but i am not sure what the part on the hub with the female threads would be called and if i am going to replace that, anyone got any input as to whatelse i could of broken and what else i am going to have to replace?? Thanks in advance

The hub doesn't have threads, it's a spline that matches the spline shaft on the axle. If the spline is chewed up, you need a new hub and bearing as well as another axle.
The nut, once torqued, should be secured in place by notching the nut into the nub on the hub. You do that with a hammer and large screwdriver. If that was done after you tightened it up, the nut would never have backed off.
