I don't think so. My policy has the maxima grouped together under the trim description and model it states Nissan Maxima GLE/SE/GXE and makes no mention of tranny. You should be fine as is.

no...engine swaps are a different story, although nobody ever lets insurance know about those either.

My insurance policy does not state anywhere if my car is auto or stick, so if I get in an accident, they'll replace my manual. I wouldnt want the nightmare that awaits the guy who needs to revert back to auto.

It all has to do with value, and I doubt it's a big enough difference in value to even matter to most people. The only thing I would be mad about if I did a swap was that all the money I put into swapping would be lost, but then if you were worried about that you wouldn't do it in the first place.

I dont think they charge different rates whether it is auto or manual, but the VIN will tell them which one it is. Ask if it will affect you premium if you change to a manual.

Better off not giving them a reason to deny a claim because you modified the car.

They most likely will not care. I told mine about the VQ35 swap with less miles and they were like "So?"

Don't tell them that your doing mod's to your car it might just cost you. My plan doesn't go into specifics about what transmission my vehicle has. I don't think they even know I have an SE or not since I left that out as well in fear of extra fees.

Well, sort of as long as you stay within the boundaries set by local, state, and federal laws.

Don't.... if an accident is bad enough to ruin your cars transmission than they will probobly just total, save the money and don't tell them.
