accelerated pad wear with drilled rotors?

Have any of you noticed much faster brake pad wear with drilled rotors vs blank rotors?

Well it would make sense that you would have faster pad wear for drilled and slotted rotors due to the shearing stress present when the pad is pushed against the rotors.

It does make sense...but I really wonder if this theory applies in the real world application. Some folks are blaming my friend's premature pad wear on his Stillen drilled rotors.

I don`t see how a brake pad can flex THAT much to be effect by the slots.

I didn't notice a difference. I just hated the noise of the cross drilled rotors.

I got 50K miles out of a set of Metal Masters with X-drilled rotors. Actually there was plenty of pad still left, but they were squealing like mad. I'm running Wagner Thermal Quiet Ceramic's now. Lifetime warranty, so I really don't care if they ware out, replacements are free!

I've had slotted and drilled rotors for about 70k miles, and I put new oem pads on at the same time. I'm still on those same pads.

shouldn't be excessive wear, but they certainly will fade quicker than with blanks.
