Battery,Alternator?
Battery,Alternator?
What's the issue here? I had my rpms dropping down to the 3-500 rpm range when slowing down to a stop when I had my clutch in. Cleaned the IAC Valve and the TB. The rpms stabilized after this. However the rpms are way up initially when I start the car if it has not warmed up (I just reset the ECU so this is another issue, we'll see if it gets any better) but eventually, it drops to the normal range at idle- 6-800 rpm.
With that as a background, I noticed that with my lights on, if I'm at a stop and are stepping on the brakes, the battery light comes on. I get off the pedal, it goes off. I know, very annoying
especially given that the battery was replaced a year ago, alternator maybe 1.5 yrs ago. What I'm I missing here?
BTW- If you haven't cleaned the IACV Valve and TB, do it. You cannot believe the dirt in there!

This sucks man! Well, i'm replacing the struts saturday, looks like I might be doing the alternator as well. Its strange since apart from this, it runs fine otherwise....
BTW for anyone else reading this, resetting the ECU seems to have taken care of the high rpms after cleaning the IAC valve and TB. Its back to normal, about 6-800 rpms when warmed up and at idle. No codes 1 day later.. (knock on wood)..
