Whats your winter wheels w/ a BBK?

I plan to do a 300zx BBK with 04 Maxima 12.6" rotor or Cobra 13" rotors. I was just curious what everyone else runs for their winter wheels, basically what is cheap and clears the calipers fine. I have 18" SSR GT1s for the summer and I dont really want to run them in the winter because of the brakes.

I don't suppose you read the thread about wheels that clear the bbk? Basicly with my bbk, you need 17" min + offset/spoke clearance. But I've always wanted to get a set of 300z rotors milled down + take off my brackets + install the 300z calipers directly on my torque member + run 300z rotors + run some stock 16" 300z wheels with either slicks or winter rubber.

The cool thing is one wouldn't even have to rebleed the brake lines. Could be done in about 10 min per side.

I actually did a lot of searching and I must have missed that thread.

That is a good idea to have some milled down 300zx rotors to swap on with some wheels (300zx probably) for the winter. For going to the track it would be a bit more hassle to swap on and off because I think I will be going more often so maybe ill get some 17" track wheels or possible just stay with milled 300zx rotors.

For the track, you could just drive there with the drag radials or street tires. No need to do all that work at the track.

I'd highly suggest getting the 13" rotors if you can. The torque arm advantage is where alot of the brake improvement comes from. Read testimonies from people that only did the caliper/rotor vs the caliper/13" Cobra rotor.

if it were me i would just run the 300zx calipers with milled rotors.......less hassle ......more wheels fit....i also change wheels for these dreadful buffalo winters...that is what is holding me back from doing any BBK

All you need is two cheap 16" 300z na wheels and two cheap milled 300z rotors. Take the brackets off, install rotors and calipers back on. It doesn't get ANY easier than that.

While I was searching, I did come across a few people saying the 13" rotors made a noticable difference so thats why I was really considering it. Swapping the rotor and removing the bracket is very easy to do but it will just be a hassle because I will be going to the track often and I know I will just end up leaving the milled 300zx rotors on most of the summer. So it will be either 17" track wheels or 300zx milled rotors all the time. If there is a big enough different with just the 300zx calipers/rotors then that will be just fine for me.
