entering with spare key but no key fob?
sorry if this is a stupid question but if i remember correctly, if i lock my car with the key fob but try to unlock it later with just the spare key the alarm goes off. if i was to lose my keys how would i go about entering the car?

I havent heard of that before, nor have I ever had an issue with that. Our keys do not have a chip in them or anything, so there is no way there would be a difference with a spare key. Only thing I can think of is a valet key which will open the car doors, but not the trunk or glovebox.

< Personally done this just to check! My sisters car alarm (Cavalier) will go off if you lock with the fob then unlock with a key. Maxima, however, will not. I think there is something in the door that disarms the alarm when they key is turned. I am not sure if this means that if someone just stuck something in the lock and broke it and made it turn that it would disarm the alarm or not.. I am thinking it probably would. Just a thought. But if you lock with the fob and open with a key it will disarm.

if u are using the passenger side door i can see....but if its the driver door might want to yank ur door panel off and do a lilttle snooping around near the lock cylinder...u might have a bad contact that is not triggering
