The timing chain is supposed to last for the life of the engine.

You shouldn't have to do anything to the timing chain as long as you take car of your car properly, like the stickies mention.

I wasn't so lucky.... one of my timing chains (we actually have two) broke earlier this year at 189,xxx mi.... Right now I'm at 203,500....

After what I went through earlier this year, I'll definitely be replacing both timing chains at 300,000.... just for preventative maintenance.

The timing doesn't have to be replaced, you could have it replaced around 200,000 miles, you don't have to lube it because it is lubricated with engine oil as your engine runs.

We actually have 3. One main and two secondaries. I don't know what the hell you were doing with your motor, but my dad's 3.0's timing chain was fine when i pulled it out with 276k on the clock.
