Bulb in seat heater switches? 95-99

Does anyone know the size of the bulbs in the heated seat switches? I will take a close up pic and post it. Thanks everyone

radio shack may have something that fits. i replaced mine with leds. its to simple.

I did that, they did not work, put both wires on the copper bars, one on each.
Did you use a resistor? Or just LEDs? Did you reuse the holder for the bulb?

I found what I think will work at bulbman.com. I ordered three of the #8111 incandescant bulbs but haven't got them yet. They are only $1.24 each so I figure it's worth a try.

yes you need a resistor. watch for polarity also. i think i soldered directy to the copper.

I am going to do this to my old ones with green leds, what size resistor did you use?

good question. iirc 470 ohm but im not 100% sure. they came with the leds. you may need different ones for the leds you use.

your switch could be bad.... Ive seen a number of bad heated seat switches. Check the fuse as well.

I think I would know if they were bad, it been 30 here average, heaters work fine top and bottom just the bulbs burned out. I want to take pics when I do mine for others in the how to.

i was trying to replace the bulb in the switch last night, but i wasnt sure how to get to the bulb. where does the switch come apart?

Take out the blue part on driver and black for passenger, you will see a slot where it locks in on both sides put flathead in and pull a little bit, do to other side, it should pull out then. Only a little on each side at first, pop both sides first w/ flathead, then it will pull out. Don't worry if you break them, switch will still hold tight, just be careful, its time consuming.

You are correct 470ohm 1/2watt will do, I changed all my lights to LED except the heated seat switch, PIA to convert now my dam light has burnt out also but the dealer doesn't sell the bulb only!!??? Just the complete switch, so if anyone can find aftermarket bulbs let us know!
