Body Kit owners:after all is said and done, would you get it again/bother?

i currently have a stillen front and ionic sides waiting to be installed until i can afford the paint, and hope to get an ionic rear. anyways, what my biggest concern is, like everything else on my car, that i'll get sick of it and regret even bothering in the first place. i'm nervous i'll bottum out and scrape everywhere and it'll obviously show because my car is white and it would basically look like @ss.

so, how have you guys made out over time? has it held up and still look as good as you thought it first did? have you had to repaint the front due to scraping? i'm lowered on h&r's and gr2's which seem to look lower than other cars with the same setup. i know you have to be careful on speedbumps and the like, but i'm just worried about all the other random crap ruining a few hundred dollar investment. (investment because i picked it up pretty cheap and plan on selling it when i eventually get rid of my car) thanks for any feedback...

Only part I scraped was my front lip and I can't see the scratches unless I go underneeth the car. I used 3M clear bra for my bumper and my lip. I only have minor nicks from a year of daily use (rocks, salts, etc). I'm lowered 2.5" front. I still love my kit

I have the Skyline kit...to this day I still like the way it looks. It took me 3 years to crack it..not too bad. In the end...I will do it again...I'm lowered 1.7 on Progress springs...and I'm plannin to get an M bumper as soon as the Skyline front end finally breaks in two.

i would think that it is worth it if you have the funds to drop on it. especially if you plan on repainting it every couple of years it'll keep looking nice.

is it just me, or does anyone else think stillen sides do not look good at all. theres just something about putting a very rounded piece on the flat straight bottom of the car that doesnt work for me. im actually thinking about modding some bmw sides that are flatter and would actually flow well with the side of the car.

I'm with you on that one. I don't really like any of the kits out there because no one will come out with a kit that simply finishes off the bottom of the car. I think this car is too "grown" for gaudy body kits and just needs a small finisher to make it look done.

I just dont think I will own a maxima if it didnt have a stillen kit. So factory yet so stylish. Without a kit maxima is.... nothing

I would only do stillen I don't think I could sleep at night if I had fiberglass. Especially since the wife wants to drive it sometimes. I've scraped even with the stillen, I don't see how you fiberglass guys do it and I'm only on intrax. 1.7".

To me, the ionic sides look right, they seem to sqaure to look right, whereas the stillen is rounded and molds into the body more. It looks so much smoother. The back looks better too. Damn, the whole stillen kit is the way to go! But there's something about spending 800$ on a lip kit then having to worry about painting it that really sux.

How much did you guys spend on your kit + paint?

As you can tell by the sig....I NEED A KIT!

if you're worried about scrapping, don't worry about it. with normal performance spring drops, you won't scrap it as much as you would think.
I'm on coilovers with 3/4 fingers all around, but I usually don't scrap.

I love my stillen sides/rear and can't wait to get the front lip installed in the spring. Every other available kit looks inferior in my eyes.

I never regretted the stillen kit...it makes the car look so much better than any other kit out there.
