Looks awesome! Where did you get the CF hood from and for how much? Love the cefiros, nice work

also: what did you do instead of using hood pins?

Looks good, but you really should invest in some hood pins.

i got the hood from carbonefx.com for a little under 450 shipped.. it was going to cost that much to get the dent taken out of my stock hood, so i got the cf hood instead.. i actually dont have hood pins.. i keep a close watch on it.. and it doesnt really flex that much or often.. when i had it installed the adjusted my hood latch and it closes pretty snug.. i may end up getting some i dont know.. i know everyone says you need some if you get a cf hood though.. thanks for the input..

Looking great. CF lip is a nice touch, along with the eye lids and hood.

I would suggest getting the hood pins asap, aslo. Just because you dont see it flexing doesnt mean something still cant happen. Its better safe than sorry. When I put my CF hood on I liked the look without the hood pins muhch more, but when the hood flew up at me . . . I put the pins in.

You could get some hood pins, and sand a paint to match your color Max, or black hood pins, that would help create the illusion you dont have hood pins.

I'm gonna guess around 25lbs less than stock...my VIS CF hood comes in at 20lbs and my OEM one is around 45ish lbs...

yeah i think that they said it was like 23-25 lbs.. so i lost on average about 20 lbs... i wish VIS made a hood for our generation of max but i am very impressed with the quality of the one i got.. even the body shop that installed it said it was good quality.. that said enough for me..

STEVEN88 - just out of curiosity how much did you pay for your VIS hood??

I paid $400 shipped...that is a hook up price though...my friend's friend goes direct with VIS and he gave me that price....but before I was referred to him...I went to this motorsports shop and they quoted me $450 + tax....and ebay runs for like $480 shipped I think

i think you should've did your suspension first. Your car looks odd sitting at stock height w/ a CF hood.

umm i dont know.. i would have to see the skeleton that VIS used for their hoods before i could have decided.. if i would have chosen before i saw the quality of the carbonefx hood i would have probably gone with the VIS (assuming they made one for my car) just because the definite quality that goes with the name.. But now that i have seen my hood it would be a tough decision.. i am very pleased with it.. everything from the finish, to the tight cf weave, the edges, and the skeleton frame.. the thing i like best about this hood is that the skeleton is not just glued to the CF hood... it is all molded as one piece so that there is no worry of seperation from flexing.. also.. a friend of mine had a CF hood on his car.. and from the underneath you could see the actual CF.. the skeleton frame looked like it was just glued to the hood.. and then after he had it for like a year or two it started to fade in the spots where the skeleton was at.. it was a poor build..

egxflash - thats what it says on their website..

Nice CF goodies...

I hate the look of hood pins too, but I got them for piece of mind. I drove around for a few days w/o them, and saw my hood flexing a little. If you hood flies up, there goes the hood, windshield, and some roof damage will occur. Is it really worth it to take the chance?

BTW, I got my hood from CarbonEFX too.

Hood looks good. Get the pins, its worth it to keep your roof/hood from getting smashed.

that CF hood and skeleton are definitely not made in one piece. It is glued together
