can you hear antilock breaks?

yesterday I breaked hard from 40 to 0 while racing along a curvy road. I heard a sorta loud grinding sound when stepping on the break hard. Is ithis normal?

Yes

This sounds normall my car and anyother car I've driven with ABS sounds like that,you no it is working allright if you don't start scidding.

yep, you will hear a grinding noise. absolutely normal.

You'll feel the car jolting, and the pedal will pulse pretty hard.
