check your hoses. i freaked out about my water pump too after seeing some coolant seeping down to my tranny pan area. ended up just being the upper rad hose. since it's getting cold, might as well change all the hoses and do a flush.

Depends if your doing this or a ASE CERTIFIED tech is doing it. Noticed I put ASE because I wouldn't let jiffy lube touch it. Don't have any idea on how much a new water pump will cost but factor in that the timing chain cover comes off, you will need to do an oil change again and a coolant flush. This can become very costly. Hopefully its done once and done right the 1st time.

timing cover doesnt have to come off to do a waterpump and ASEs dont mean d1cK. you can get a pump for around 70 bux

i just recently replaced my water pump, therm, and radiator all because i couldnt figure out where my leak was coming from but than eventually my car started overheating ...i changed the thermostat and radiator and check all hoses b4 attempting the water pump, but no luck i was still O/H. so i gave it a shot and attempted to replace the W/P myself and let me tell all of u MAX owners out "there", this is not an easy job! as i took apart the water pump cover, hoses, drivebelt tensioner, timing chain tensioner cover, etc., i noticed that i had to take off the timing chain tensioner as well, so that i did, but as i did that the little spring inside of it shot out into my oil pan, and i had no clue of where it was...so 3 weeks later, and $300 dollars later i have that problem fixed and my car does not O?H anymore, however now my car is not running right at all, my mechanic is saying im running on 5 cylinders and that the wire connected to my ECU for #2 cylinder is bad and he recommended that i replace the ECU unit and that everything should be fine. ANY SUGGESTIONS... PLEASE ANY HELP OUT THERE WOULD BE APPRECIATED GREATLY.

yeah whatever you do you dont want to drop anything back there.

if the wire to the ecu is bad why would you change the ecu? wouldnt you need to change the harness? find out which wire that is and see if its just a loose pin. try to push it in and see if that helps.
