Macco quality
Macco quality
I had my car estimated for small rust removal lots of dent removal and a paint job at Macco. It was supposed to be around 1700 but I had them work with me to get it for 1400. Is it worth it at Macco or not? Anyone have their cars done by them?
i dunno, but i personally wouldn't spend so much money on just a couple of dents. If there is rust, sand the rust off n use touch up paint. i would think that the car would be worth as much as the paint job

depending on what macco its at it might be decent my aunt had her silver grand am color changed to orange and body work done for 1700 the cars paint looks good, the only problem is she didnt get the door jambs painted. they had to repair a door skin put on a new side mirror and a new sideskirt and the paint has held up good in chicagos bad weather so far.
had my old integra painted for $300 at macco. some special thing they had. car looked alright for a year. no chipping. car got totaled so dont know how long it was going to last.
why spend thousands on a paint job on a old car like our maxima's which isnt worth very much now....

Main problem with Maaco for you is the rust... the clear coat won't be there as well but within a year the rust will start all over again because they simply Fail to get Rid of It..
Seriously though, how much should a good quality paint job run you if;
a) you're staying the same color (in my case, black)
b) you're leaving the engine bay/underhood as it is
c) there is very little rust, just some paint chips and 2-3 places with minor surface rust
d) plenty of scratches and primered, unpainted front fenders/bumper

Instead of spending that on Maaco, do some research and you can get a good quality paint job. I paid about 2000 for mine when it was Custom MetallicNeptune Blue

I made a mistake on getting Maaco to do mine 3 yrs ago. Although they painted the car the same color, at least they should have, they managed to mismatch the oem color. I found this out when I did the pillar mod where I peeled off the vinyle covering from them. The beige color on them is a lot lighter than the rest of the car.....fawking Maaco!!!
Also, the paint is now starting to fall apart around the front bumper area by the grill and by the sideview mirrors.
My advise to anyone, pay the extra $600 and have it done right!

That is the color I want but a color change might cost too much. How much was it to repaint the car black?

In addition, don't be tricked by Maaco. When I went to look at their work, they showed me this pickup truck they were painting, all trimmings and lights have been removed to avoid overspray. They seem to know what they were doing at the time. When I got mine done, I was so disappointed when I saw overspray everywhere! Like some drunk-a$$ had painted my car. They offered to remove the overspray but I'd have to come back in a few weeks after the paint had cured more. I was so disgusted by them that I never came back and instead, I removed the overspray myself. Again, if you think everyone in here is being mellow-dramatic about Maaco...think again. You will regret you ever went with them, I did!
Assuming Macco is the same as Maaco! There seems to be two places with a very similiar name here unless they are the same???? Stay away! You're better off going to Walmart and spraying it yourself with BBQ paint. They did a car of mine years ago, I ended sueing! I had to sell the car at a huge loss because the paint job peeled after a few months they never pre sanded! But you never know maybe they've improved their methods?
well, my buddy got a paintjob for $650, and they molded the sideskirts and back bumper...now he has a bunch of green chips in his front bumper 9black car) and the paint job looks very wavy. never go cheap on paint.
