P1105/1302 code??

I have done a search here but didn't find what I was looking for.

I had the famous KS code previously. Paid a guy to replace the KS yesterday. I have a 99 Cali A/T so it was worth $60 to pay someone to remove the intake to replace it.

Anyway, picked it and drove it and the ses came on almost immediately. I have a scanner so pulled a P1105 and P1130 code out of it. I have never seen these codes until now. KS code is gone so that's good news. Cleared the codes, drove the car, ses came right back on. Today, we're down to just the P1105/1302 code. I reset it. The ses comes back on with the P1105/1302 code only. I saw in one of the posts here where the vacuum hoses got swapped on the MAP causing this code so I swapped the hoses around. No difference. Still getting the 1105 code.

My first thought is that the guy that replaced the KS did something to cause this since I've not seen it before. Left something loose, off, switched around, etc. But before I go down that road, has anyone else replaced a KS and then got this code immediately? Again, this code never came up until the KS was replaced. Car runs fine but it's time (past time!) for inspection so gotta get that friggin light turned off.

So where I do go first?

Diagnostic Trouble Code 0201 indicates a problem with the ignition coil and power transistor. The ignition signal from the Engine Control Module is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns on and off the ignition coil primary circuit. This on-off operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

The malfunction is detected when the ignition signal in the primary circuit is not entered during engine cranking or running.

The items to check include
- Harness or connectors (the ignition primary circuit is open or shorted.)
- Power transistor unit built into ignition coil
- Condenser
- Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF) circuit

A misfire on any individual cylinder should set a code, and a problem with the CPS should also set a code.

I would have expected to see DTC 0201 along with one of the following DTCs.
0407 - Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF)
0608 - Cylinder 1 misfire
0607 - Cylinder 2 misfire
0606 - Cylinder 3 misfire
0605 - Cylinder 4 misfire
0604 - Cylinder 5 misfire
0603 - Cylinder 6 misfire

You didn't get one of these "companion" DTCs, and that is puzzling. Maybe one of them will show up in the next few days.

Thanks for the response but we have a "failure to communicate". Probably my fault.

If you use a scanner to pull the code out, the code is a P1105. That translates to a 1302 code which appears to be related to the MAP. As far as I know, P1105 does not have any association with the 0201 error message you reference in your response.

It seems odd that the P1105 code has never come up in the past until the KS was replaced. I'm thinking that something occurred during the KS replacement that has generated this new code. I'm trying to determine if this same thing has happened to anyone else after they replaced their KS and if so, what they did to fix it.

It could just coincidentally be a new code but my first thought is that is has something to do with changing the KS since the code showed up immediately after the KS was changed.
