Auto Transmission temp gauge port? overcooling?

Anyone know where we can tap into our auto tranny to add a temp gauge? because i have cooler iv been using for long time about a year but i have never really thought about the fact that i could be overcooling my tranny fluid. At what kind of temperatures would this heppen? i live in Miami florida so i assumed that its not possible, but then again on the highway on a 70degree weather, that might feel like 20 degrees to the tranny cooler. wat u guys think?

Huh, I have a tranny cooler and dive in pretty cold weather, NYC got some cold winters with wind chills way in the –0.

Never thought I could over cool the tranny.

I just drive slow for about the first 10-15 mins..

You won't have a problem in Florida. Transmission fluid loves to be cool. The only time it could be a problem is if the cooler is so large that it keeps the Torque converter clutch from locking up. I've only had that happen around -5 degrees F. It better not get that cold where you live!!

You would know if it was, to the point of concern, overcooling.

I am going to tap into the pan for my sensor, from what I have learned its a better indication of the real fluid temp vs the cooling line.

Also if you are putting in a pressure gauge you have to get a 1/8' BST to 1/8' NPT adaptor. This year I want to know what goin on in there.

cool sounds good. I was also looking right now at B&M coolers that have a bypass for when fluid gets to thick(cold), you guys think i should purchase that change the Hayden i have. I just dont kno what size i would get.. this is wat im looking at.

On a related note... I think my tranny runs "cool" during winter around here... it takes forever for the shift into OD to be "allowed" by the TCM... I might have to rig up an inline temp-sensor as well...

Anyone have any experience with the actual temp sensor inside the tranny? I know there is one and it is used by the TCM.
