d2 Camber Plate Problem
d2 Camber Plate Problem
I posted this in the 5th gen but I also know that many of you have k-sports and d2, I think even more so than the 5th genners. Any help would be appreciated:

Larrio was saying the same thing about how this might be the third defect he has seen.
First time I saw it was about 5 months ago at a local meet, the dude was so convinced that they were suppose to be like that, hahah. Try calling up urban imports or the place you got them from. Or if you really want to, you could try re-drilling the holes so these will fit right.

Is that safe? Re drilling the holes? I can get two of them to match up but the third one is off half an inch or so. I did get them used and the guy I bought them from also thought that was correct.
I wouldnt drill the holes, but its always an option. Its perfectly safe to drive them the way you got it now, you just cant adjust your chamber. The guy I met at the local meet had been driving like that for months.
As far as I know everything was fine on his end. Like I said, he thought they were suppose to be that way. I mean, itll just be like any other suspension setup that doesnt have camber plates.
on what vlasic said...You do have this option...
Avoid all this complication and just drive how it is...take it to an alignment shop and have them put everything back to spec for you...they can even use the lower mount oval shaped hole to adjust camber through there....the only negative thing I can see is, you can't fully adjust the coilovers how you like them to be...since the camber plates are out of service....
Think of it as your stock suspension...they don't have camber plates or an adjustable lower mount...but alignment shops still are able to bring them back to spec...you shouldn't worry too much if u ask me...I'd be pissed as hell, but I mean, the car is still driveable
this is not a problem to just go ahead and ghetto rig. the company needs to be informed of the problem. dont drill out your chassis, get the correct part. these plates are obviously a manufacturing defect and need to be corrected. vlassic has seen more than one case, which rules out a one off... not to mention both of your plates are wrong. that means there is a batch of countless plates that are drilled wrong. way to go D2......
they all have the same pattern, ever notice how the strut bars are interchangable?

the sohc 3rd gen and all 4th gens are the same bar, the dohc 3rd gens and 5th gens are the same bar. the bolt pattern on the strut towers are the same. but its the shape of the bar that differs to clear the intake manifold. p11 g20's (maybe all) have the same pattern too, but the bar is about 2" shorter. the older altima bar also fits the g20's, with no mods which fits the 2nd gen max i believe. looks as if nissan used the same size upper strut mount.
also it seems as if a majority of the nissans with the 114.3mm lug pattern (36mm axle nut) share this strut mount size. the cars with the 100mm lug pattern (32mm axle nut) have a smaller mount but same design. maybe the s13/s14 camber plates fit?

did your d2's come with top mounts for the back?? if they did, it means that you got the wrong ones. Only the 4th gen came with the back upper mounts for the back. The 5th gen requries you to re-use ur stock ones. dunno why, but thats how they're made
I don't think that matters whether its a 4g or a 5g D2 coilover...from what I know, the upper mounts are the same dimensions between the 4th & 5th gens....its the lower mounts that have different dimensions with the 5th gen being larger
