Need help with my buddies car.
He's had his tranny rebuilt ATLEAST 6 TIMES within 2 months. Now he's tellinlg me it sometimes is shifting wrong. He says it'll go from 1st to 3rd instead of 1st to 2nd. etc...

stop going to the same shop, or get a 5spd. There is absolutely no reason to have your tranny rebuilt 6 times.

Probably not the answer your looking for but it's probably better to find a used low mileage and get it over with.

I think that's what he might do unfortunately.

But anyone for reference sake have any idea why an auto tranny would SOMETIMES go from 1st to 3rd?

bad shift solenoids, mine did the same thing, literally went from 1st to 3rd, and i had no O/D.
