Mike,

I have always admired your illustrative skills, its like drawing with crayons but on a pc.
BTW, that drawing of your car shows you have major wheel gaps. You better tuck those tires in son!

that night was a nightmare. the sound of the exhaust and underbody scrapin and things being broken still haunts me. i actually felt the car raise on the b pipe like a ship hittin the shore. the damn car actually got stock, it took 2500 rpm rev to get it out in reverse. i had to go back into the damn garage and exit from the other entrance thats less steep. it was my friends garage and im never going to go in there.

I'm probably at about 3" drop and I scrape way too much. Too many steep entrances/exits around here in good old TN.

Isn't there a way to fix that? I'm sure those muffler shops can customize some kind of bracket to raise the B-pipe up a bit if there's still enough room up top.

If you remove the b-pipe, cat, and muffler, drive axles and tie rods, you can lower your car even more like this.

I took mine rear sway bar off when I installed coilovers. The car is more responsive when turning, and the back end feels lighter.

i used to slam my exhaust ont he ground every once ina while, im lowered about 4 in the front and 3.25-3.5 in the back. granted im a 00 so my wheel gap was imo worse than 4th gens. i have a frankencar catback, which ias very heavy. i replaced the hangers with stronger cheap ebay eurothane. that raised the exhuats up alot. i hit it alot less now.

i would never go under 2 inches if u dont have a way of being able to raise it back up if needed. ex.being towed.

from what ive noticed, a better way to measure a drop is from the ground to the highest point of the wheel well. every car sits different, being trans type/systems/mileage/rim size.. were all not starting from the same point.
for example im 24.5 in front and 24.5 in the rear with stock 17s.

id link ya, btu im at work and i cant access ebay. i just typed in exhaust hangers, and it brought up these blue and red ones, thats what i used, the different colors have different size holes, i didnt know this and had to shave mine a little. i think they were like 15bucks shipped for a pair, i think i used two pairs.

to make them easier to put on, soak them in very hot water. i boiled mine, then pop them on, theyll be easier to bend and stretch. theyre very stiff when theyre cold(like theyre supposed to)and can be a pain to put on while laying on ur back under a lowered car.

Yea definately give us pics maybe some comparisons. My exhaust is about all rusted out so it about time for a new one anyway. But does the new b pipe have the bracket the old b pipe did on the front to prevent from something grabbing the b pipe and ripping it off?

no it doesnt. that bracket on mine was broken and squashed, causing the stock resonator to bend in. the new resonator is much smaller and only slightly bigger than the piping. there is no need for the bracket !
