Y pipe install...ECU reset?

Is it necessary to reset the ecu after y-pipe installation?

Its easy but the question is that is it necessary? Does the ECU need to relearn after having a y pipe installed?

if your trying to ask for the gains to be noticeable you dont have to reset the ecu. it should be an instant notice

hmm. i always understood it to be that you were better off just resetting so the ecu would relearn everything after installing something.
i do it everytime.
but just out of curiosity, whats keeping you from resetting?

Ok, to each their own

My A/F is screwed whether I reset the ECU or not ...

SAFC = crude way to reset WOT maps.

NMEX - what happend to your tranny problem? I completely forgot about that..

back on topic - no need to reset the ECU... how does the Y-pipe affect air-fuel ratios...

I your FS thread this morning - thats what reminded me.

Thanks for the link to Jay's thread... it's just what I was looking for ...

On topic again - so I don't get in trouble:
The only time I would suggest resetting the ECU is necessary is whenever the light needs to be reset to clear the codes stored (i.e. once you fix the problem), or if you do anything that would alter the A/F ratio, e.g. injectors, MAF, TB retro-fit, or MEVI, etc.
