C.F. Hood and Trunk question

I'm in search on a carbon hood and trunk...for all those who have it where did it you get from. And how is the quality. And if you can post pics. And if anyone knows where you can get the hood and trunk at the same place for a good price let me know. Thanks

This is a recent picture of the frontal shot. It has a gap in the center because of the hood latch being too high and grille sitting down too low. I gotta fix that and shouldn't be a problem after.

This is side shot of my car couple of months back... before some mods were added on.

And here are some trunk shots my girl took couple of months back as well.

Hood is from Carbon EFX and fits perfect. Just need to drill some holes and things like that. Trunk is from Ionic Dynamics and also fits perfect. Only thing you have to do is some drilling to get the taillights back into place... and also doing something about the tension bars because the cf trunk is so light, it'll fly open.

Car is nice...I like it...if you don't mind me asking how much you paid for everything. You can pm me with the price if you don't want to post it. Are you going to drop your car? You got pics of the window spoiler?

hhaha yea i'm dropping it very soon... soon as winter passes. the hood, i got it from ebay... i don't know which seller because my g/f bought it for me for my birthday present.... but it came with free cf eyelids.

the trunk, i really can't tell you the price because Jose@Ionic really hooks me up. You should visit ionicdynamics.com for all the carbon fiber for our gen max. he'll hook you up too.. tell him i sent ya.

CarbonEFX in the house. I bought mine some time ago. I think I was one of the first people on the .org to buy or at least admit to buying from them. Very good product. You will need hood pins though.

hey dubbya, what did you do with the hood latch? do you still have the hood latch on and also the pins? because i'm thinking about removing the hood latch completely and just rely on the hood pins.

oh, you HAVE to use hood pins? i got the impression the latch worked since 97maximus doesnt appear to have pins. do the hood pins come with the hood?

I would highly recommend using pins. Relying on the latch alone is asking for trouble.
The hook on the underside that the latch clips to is attched to the fiberglass underside. Doesnt take much to pull the latch assembly away from the fiber glass section.

Trunk is from Ionicdynamics

My hood is an older hood purchased from Redlinemax.

ive had the hood for a couple of years now and the clear coat is begining to come off in some spots.
My next hood will more then likely be from CarbonEFX
Ive seen Dubbyas and Dirtysoufmax's and they look really nice.

I use the hood latch. I suppose you could remove it, but I would be worried about how much the hood would be flexing and moving around at highway speeds. They tend to be very flexible already.

Yes. Treat the hood better than you treat your painted metal. Dont let bird crap and water spot sit on your CF. Usually they have very thin clear coats.

I would. I was going to do it with my current hood but put it off.
My new hood I plan on having a shop shoot another coat of clear on it.

^^yea, me too. im getting my hood and trunk re cleared and my guy told me around $200ish for both. my trunk i got from ionic dynamics and the hood im not even sure. but hood pins shound be put on. i mean when your doing 75 and 'boom', then you will know why.( im missing 3 bolts from my latch, i just found out yesterday, why, i dont know) i got my sparco pins for like $40 from redlinemax i think and they are very nice. and your latch, without it (just hood pins) is kind of a security thing imo, can you lower the latch a little bit kormax97? and yea, if you spend the $$ to get these parts, take care of em. i shine the crap out of my c.f. pieces. your max should look good acee. i want a c.f. grill for some reason...anyone else?

[URL="http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=450130"] How awesome is this...it's a GD on carbon fiber hoods. All they need now is a group deal on the trunk and I'll be good to go
