Dash Painting.. Ideas?

hey guys. we as of right now my dash is painted silver with the duplicolor wheel paint. looks jsut like this:

Anyways, im tired of the silver. i want it to look somewhat the stock black but i want a variation of that color. i was thinkin a flat black, a gloss black, or a dark gray. I did a search on dash color to see what people have done and it looks like most everyone does silver.

Point of this thread... does anyone have pics of a painted dash besides silver, and what color would look best..

thanks all

Sean

Do like a gunmetal or something. Someone had their gauge bezel painted like that and it looked hot...my only concern is the climate control...hence why I havent painted mine yet, not sure how to approach it.

Ya, deffinately dont use any type of stripper on there, it will just melt your plastic. You really dont need to get the old paint off either, just paint right over it with whatever black you want. You could try out the vinyl stuff but I would just stick with the wheel paint. Thats what Im going to use once I get my black interior.

i never see people painting the dash pieces body color of their car, if i didnt have a kit, id go that route. do the sanding and what not and have a professional paint em the right way if you can. imo it'd look good, a real eye catcher. anyone do this?

yea, with that, you just pop out the top vents/clock and the climate control comes out, then you pop off the plastic face of the c.c. and bam, you can paint it now cause you dont have to worry about the buttons. and if you can, do the gauge bezel too

Do a dark gray/gunmetal. That's what I did. I was in the same situation as you just a few days ago and decided to go with a glossy dark metallic color. I love it, and I think it looks way better than the silver did.
