Hi, I had a budget Y-pipe installed by the guys at budget and now when i drive the car sometimes i hear a loud scraping sound. I dont know where its coming from but it wasnt there before the y pipe install. The sound is also intermittent and i cant make it happen on command. Do you guys have any clue as to what may be the problem?

 

Does it happen when going over speed bumps and driveways?

 

No it happens on regular roads. Comes and goes. Happened twice today. I hope its nothing in the engine bay.

 

Well obviously the y-pipe or some other exhaust component is rubbing something. Go back to the installer and have them look at it on the lift. Should be fairly easy to figure out.
