Could these three problems be related?

ok I kind of asked these before, but not all together.

problem
1: My panic alarm does not work, (doors look, and alarm works)
2: My cruise control does not work at all. (no green light at all, different then most peoples problem)

3rd and final which I believe might be the casue of all of them.

3: The key does not stay in the key hole of the steering wheel. (comes off in any position)

Do you all think that a sensor in the cylinder is not working (and the car think the key is not in, at any time. That is why not cruise, nor the panic alarm?

I really want to fix this.... please any help

I saw your thread earlier...

1. I think the Panic button is unrelated to the cruise and key problem
2. If you pull the key out (once the car is started) does the car continue to run?

It sounds like you need a new ignition cylinder, and I would check the fuses for the cruise control, and for the panic does the horn work at all? I would also check for fuses there too.

sorry I forgot to say does things.
1: the car still runs and steering wheel turns, with out locking. (without key)
2: Horn Does work
3: I have checkd all the fuses, and replaced all of the cruise control parts into the car(except wires), from my crashed maxima (which was working fine).

one way to test if the ignition switch is sensing the key in it is to have the key in the ignition, engine off. then get out of the car and lock the doors. if the ignition switch senses the key, the doors will not lock when you close it.

if the door locks, 2 things: 1- ignition switch doesn't sense key, and 2- i hope you have another key.

You don't have to be out of the car to try to lock with the remote, the car can't tell if you are inside or outside. Just make sure the doors are closed.

^ yea i've done that a couple of times. I locked myself in waited a bit then unlocked the door and the alarm went off.

You should try that and see if the alarm goes off. Kinda helps cause it reacts the same way and panic would.

Do you have a 2nd remote? Something rare to see if maybe the panic button on the remote might be faulty. But none of them should be on the same wires or anything like that. All diffrent problems.

Or just try your horn to narrow it down to a fuse.

did you replace your speed sensor? that is often a reason why cruise control doesn't work.

as the other guy asked, did you try to use a 2nd keyfob to see if maybe it's the remote?

1) check the bcm
2) did you check the relay?
3) the ignition is worn out, but it has really no effect on the car. just take the key out when the cylendar is in the lock position.

haha awoesome,

1: my remote had a problem, the panic alarm does work. "panic button on the remote might be faulty

2: horn Does work.

3: FOR the "speed sensor", I thought one obvious reason of a faulty speed sensor is if the (speedometer wasn't working). But no I haven't replaced that.

4:I can turn my car on and off by using a swim army knife from my key chain.

I know about the ignition thing, the problem is my family, I tell them all they time about the locking system and they always forget, and they never lock my car when they leave. (sometimes my car stays open in random places where they go with my car) I hate that.

What do I do with the BCM?

another symptom and issue related to a faulty speed sensor is also no cruise control, not just the speedo. i might have a spare one sitting around i removed that turned out to be fine...if i can find it, you can have it for $5.
