Hit and Run

As the title states my car was a victim of a hit and run, i was wondering how much it'll cost to fix this kinda damamge on average, i got a few estimates around ranging from $900-$2000 but since this is coming outta my pocket, insurance company won't help since its a hit and run =|
Now for the all important pictures =|

Insurance covers hit and runs, all you'll need to cover is the deductable

If he has liability only, it won't cover it will it?

I think you have to have comprehensive coverage for ANY damage to your own vehicle to be covered, but I could be wrong.

That damage looks like 2k or more worth of work.

yeah i only have liable, and my policy doesn't say anything about hit and run, plus this is my 2nd accident in 6 months, and i don't want my premiums to go up (funny thing is both accidents were while the car is in park) so no1 got hurt at least no1 in my car

That's a fair bit of damage, especially considering that rear quarter panel sheetmetal looks on our cars like it's a part of the roof as well. You'll need to replace the trunk lid, the rear bumper cover, rear bumper reinforcement, quarter panel.

Parts will probably come out to 6-700 alone, not sure what a shop would do with the quarter panel, though...cut it along the C pillar then weld the new piece back on? That would require they bring the entire car into the paint booth versus just the parts themselves, which means a lot more prep work which == $.

Surprisingly enough your taillights aren't damaged at all, doesn't look like. Though it could be a good excuse to get red/clears.

man, that sucks. i would think that 2 grand is closer to what it's gonna cost for the reasons pmohr described above.

i'd rather have a broken windshield than a busted quarter panel.

That damage will cost you at least $1500 if you want it to fix it right. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Me personally, I would be in that area all the time, who knows, maybe the guy who hit you was leaving somewhere he goes alot, and maybe your purple paint is still on his black bumper
