Want to lower but...

I want to lower my car, however when i put the 350z rims on i noticed that at a full turn i have about 1/4 of an inch of clearence between the well and my tire. So what are my options? Obviously i can ditch the tires and get a lower profile but i dont really want to do that just yet since these tires have only 15000 miles on them. Second option im thinking i can burn out every chance i get to make them ware faster....but then again, with my luck, the day i get the new slimmer profile's i'll get a flat or bust a pothole.

The specs
front: 225/50r 17'
rear: 235/50r 17'

can lowering be done? are there any other options?

options
1) you can take off the tires....sell them on e-bay...make some money back for new tires.
2) get rid of these rims n tires n get new rims n tires
3) cut ur well
4) lower it 1/2 in look will be barely noticed but performance will be gained
5) lower it a lil bit now, n then when ur tires worn out, get the right size tires n then lower it some more.

But honestly, it doesn't look like its gonna rub, those are pretty much recommended tire sizes for our cars. I believe it should be around those sizes

??? I had 225/55R17 on my mags and I am lowered and I mean lowered ( 4" +/-)... and I never rubbed ( unless I was performing a u-turn)..

Proper camber / off set is key

Those rims look nice...I hope they'll fit okay with the car lowered. I was thinking of going with those myself.

I have 235/50/17's rear, 225/50/17's front with a 1.6" drop, no issues. Front rims are 7.5" wide, rears 8".
