Problem with screw falling in engine bay??

I was changing the fluid on my power steering yesterday and I loosened the hose to the resevoir and the screw fell down into the belt area or by the oil filter. I was wondering if the screw could get stuck in the pulley or belt area on the passenger side of the engine bay. I checked underneath my car to see if it fell through onto the driveway. Just wondering if anyone has had something like this happen and if it will F my max up.. Thanks in advance

It happens to all of us. Chances are it is just hung up on something and will either stay there or eventually work itself free and fall out somewhere. It won't hurt you to check your belts however the next couple of days to be sure it didn't due any damage.

Did you pull the splash guard off to look for it? I don't imagine it would mess up anything; if it were to hit a moving part it would be slung away.

You're fine.. just drive over some potholes and it will fall out , just kidding... did you replace the screw/clamp?

Just a general tip... whenever I work on the car I put a HUGE piece of cardboard (old box) under the engine bay... in case something falls through (like screw), it makes it that much easier to find it... (especially compared to finding it on my chewed up asphalt driveway)

ususally it falls to the bottom and is caught by the splash guard like someone else said. if you just move the plastic under your car you can hear it moving around and usually get to it.
i drop screws all the time. a retractable magnet is agood thing to have too. although they usually magenetize to everything except the screw.

It messes me up to not have every little screw in place. Man even rusty threads make me feel insecure.
Its like a mental thing haha. I want everything perfect. And if I have to settle for a lost screw I feel bad.
But yeah, I've devoted a good couple hours looking for bolts and screws in and out of the engine bay. I started putting everything in my pocket or plastic bags.

I dropped the screw underneath the motor mount. I looked under the hood today and say a little piece of the tip sticking out. So i got this screw driver with a magnet on it and got it out. I had a hard time sleeping last nite honestly because I can't afford to fix anything major right now ,maybe i was just paranoid.. But I'm relieved now, thanks everybody for the input.
