HELP!! Car Won't Start

I got a code for the Knock Sensor and/or Knock Sensor circuit. I changed the knock sensor cleared the code and now the car won't start. I never had any starting issuses before changing the sensor and I've checked over everthing I had unplugged to change it at least three times. I've changed this sensor before on other maximas but, I never had this happen to me, so I'm a bit confused. Could I have done something wrong? There are currently no codes. The car just cranks and cranks but won't start. Any info would greatly help. Thanks.

Maybe you left one of the harness connectors unplugged.. go check all the stuff you touched.

Well with the scanner I made the fuel pump come on, so I know that's working. I'll check the rest of the fuses today.

Did you get it fixed?

My car won't start either.

I'm a noobie and my account isn't allowing me to create a new thread.

The problem I'm having is:
I turn the key in the ignition and nothing happens. I have electrical power but the starter doesn't even try to turn. I checked all fuses inside the car. I also tried to jump the battery. Still nothing. I'm pretty bummed right now. Seems like there is no signal going to the starter. I don't know what to do. Any ideas? Please help.

Thanks.

Do you have power at the starter or you just mean that the car battery is fine and the lights/etc work?

If you don't get any voltage at the starter, then it's most likely the ignition switch.

The car battery is fine. I get lights, radio, etc...

How do I test voltage to the starter?

Pull the connector, get a multimeter, turn the key to start and see what you get. And you don't get search privileges without donating.

You can also try give the starter a few whacks and then try to start the car ... that often works.

Donations -- guess I'll be doing that soon.

If I tap the starter and that fixes it, does that mean the problem was all in the starter or do I still need to explore the ignition switch?

If it starts after a bang on the starter it's time for a new starter. If it still doesn't start, then it's still undecided and you'll have to do some further checking.

Try jiggling the key around in the key-slot and see if that works. If that does, then it's most likely the ignition switch.

Thanks for your input.

This is my first maxima that I just purchased -- used.

Is it normal to have the clutch pressed in order for the car to start? I think I recall having to do this when it was starting. Yes, it's a manual.
