0115 code question

Right bank running lean. Will i burn up my valves running this way? Should i park it till i get the money? Wont have the money for a couple of weeks.

I also got the knock sensor code too. Are they related? I dont think so. Do you think the o2 sensor is the blame for this code?

Lean codes can be triggered by a bad MAF, leak in the intake (after the MAF) - i.e. gaskets, etc., faulty fuel injector (less likely), or a bad O2 sensor.

I would bet that it is a bad O2 sensor.

The sensor is about 60-70 bucks - just buy one and replace it.

FSM list these items for code 0115:

Intake air leak
Front heated oxygen sensor (right bank)
Injectors (right bank)
Exhaust gas leak
Lack of fuel
MAF sensor

Knock sensor gives out 2 kinds of signals, one for normal operation (small signal) and one for knock (large signal). The code 0304 is set when the signal is either too large or too small. The cable is a shielded cable. A poor GND may affect the signal condition. When the signal is perpetually large, then the ECM will retard timing unnecessarily.

Yes, i read that. I will be replacing o2 sensor and checking ground and possible a new knock sensor.

My question has not been answered yet. IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE IT IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS?

WILL I DO ANY DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR BECAUSE OF ITS LEAN STATE?

Maybe the question hasn't been answered because it's not possible to say with any certainty without knowing what the real problem is.

Have you tried resetting the CEL and seeing if the code reposts immediately?

Takes about 2 days or 100 miles for the cel to come back on. its the same 2 codes that popped up the first time.

Clean the KS GND and reset the code, see if you get that same codes again. The rationale is that if it takes you a while to get the code, it is working, but not well.

You are in a pretty dry area, but it is still worth a try. The KS is removeable without removing the intake, that may be next.
