Fog light rewire mod

Im looking to do the fog light rewire mod, and I know its simple, but I have one question. If the fogs are rewired to the the sidemarker lights, does there need to be a bulb there? I took the bulbs out of the side marker lights months ago because they didnt match the rest. I just wanna make sure that this will work without them before I do it, I dont see why it wouldnt, but I wanna double check. Thanks.

Im using this write up...

bulb or not when you turn the sidemarkers on there is current going through the wire so it should be fine if there is no bulb in the sidemarker. But i am no electrical guru so maybe get a second opinion
