better buy something you don't care about wrecking.....like a honda
My first car was a 90 tt Z It lasted about 3 months then the telephone monster got it at 120 mph. I wish I had it now!!

Why is everyone recomend getting a honda? They are really expensive for used cars that's why I got a nissan because it was MUCH cheaper. The only problem is the maxima might become a money pit because of this goofy website. Try for an altima it'll be cheaper from the start and save you money at the gas tank as well as save you on insurance. Also Probe's/MX-6's/626's with 5 speeds are very reliable as well and super cheap. My cousin just picked up a 96 probe as a daily beater with 110000 mi on it for $776 from an auction and its in good condition after 3 month's of having it he's had no problems with it.

Let me just say this and I quote myself "Driving a Honda is like winning the special olympics, either way you're still retarded". End of Story. Altima is a no, I really want a Maxima, nothing will turn me away. 99grnmaxqxe - I'm afraid I don't have all the money for that, the problem is me being 15 and jobless and unable to get a job till the summer. Taxes + Fee's aren't a biggy becuase I'm working with a pretty small dealership. My main focus is just trying to budget my money inorder to possibly get the guy to let me make payments on it here and there.

Don't forget to take into account maintenance and repairs...I haven't paid much of my loan off since I bought my Max over a year ago since I had to put my money other places. Last year I spent $1700 on winter/summer tires along with maintenance (transmission flush, oil changes, spark plugs, 02 sensor, etc.) not to mention gas and insurance! Just make sure you plan ahead and don't max yourself out with a car payment.

Let just say working 50 hrs a week during the summer for 7 bucks an hour for about 12 weeks wont even pay the car off (~$3600). So consider what your getting into. Remember also you have to pay insurance depending on your location. Your looking at about ~500(liability) every 6 months if you get on your parents plan. Then remember the costs of gas as it rising all the time.
But I dont recommend spending 6g on a first car. Keep it around 3g. Yea when I was 16 I was looking at maximas around 6-10g and soon realized how am I gonna keep paying on this when school started.

well, you can't just look at the price of the car itself. you've got to take into account things like gas (maximas need better octane) and maintenance. maintenance will include things like regular oil changes, brakes, and tires, at the very least. any car with over 100,000 miles will likely need all sorts of repairs, too. you probably won't have to touch the engine, but expect other things like the starter, alternator, and transmission to start acting weird. all of these things are expensive and need to be considered.
my suggestion is to hold tight for a bit and save as much as you can. owning a car always winds up being more expensive than you think its going to be. i'm sure everyone on the org knows what i mean.
remember, rome wasn't built in a day!

When I was about 15 I wanted a max, but it was kind of like a dream for me to have one. But when my junior year was starting for me for high school, my parents knew that the max is a good car, so my mom said ok as long as keep good grades and get a job and don't mess around and all the other things parents tell you these days. So basically ask your parents and tell them the benefits they can get from spending the money and what not. Do some research and show your parents about the car.
but trying to pay by yourself for that car is a bit far fetched. try to save money until you find a lower priced max, then see more things into it. Keep in contact with that dealer and get their name card or tell them you are looking for a max with (what ever you want) with how much it will be. talk to them saying this car has this many miles in it and the kelly's blue book is priced at this and point out the cons of the car till they lower the price on it. That is what I did and they dropped the price down $1000.
