Are there any different throttle bodies I can install on my 97 Max and get more power

 

u can use a pathfinder TB but i think it needs an adapter plate....if u want some more power get a y-pipe if u dont have one already

theres a diy for installing a pathfinder TB in teh stickies but from what ive seen here on the boards its not really worth the trouble unless youre boosted.

 

Right. Pathy TB has about the same gains as a test pipe for a stock VQ30. They are pretty pricey too. I thought I was lucky when I found one for $215 shipped.

 

Well, a TB isn't necessarily pointless. You will have better throttle response (as if the VQ needs it), you just won't gain any noticeable power.

 

A pathfinder TB wouldnt be worth the $$, Just get an exhaust place to weld you up a test pipe and get rid of your stock cat.

 

I dont think its pointless either, just dont expect too much. As for the test pipe dont even bother. I has almost no gains, maybe 1hp.

 

ahhh come on u dont like nasty raw fuel/raw egg fart fumes comming fomr ur maxima and no gains to show for it........on a serious note aftermarket/no cats are pointless unless u are boosted....dont bother....since u have a y-pipe look into a VI whether it be 00vi or MEVI
