Heat not working correctly on my 1998 SE...help

Recently, the heat stopped working correctly on my 1998 SE. I don't have the climate control, just the standard controls. The problem is, when the car is sitting at idle, the heat doesn't seem to work at all. It will just blow cold, even if the car is warm. After driving for awhile, it will start to work normally, but after sitting at idle again it will stop. The controls seem to be working normally. The fan blows fine, and when I move the temperature slider I can hear it working. Anyone know what the problem might be? The car has 150000 miles on it so I expect some things to break, I'd just like to get this fixed because it's frickin' cold here right now, heh. Thanks for any help.

also check your thermostat, it might be going. I had the same problem with mine and I changed it and it is now too hot in my car.

That was it. I added some coolant and it's nice and toasty. Thanks for the help.

Might want to check the composition of water/coolant if you only added coolant.

You should keep an eye out to make sure your'e not leaking coolant because mines is leaking and when it gets low it starts to happen again.
