I got tired of my Maxima too. But in come to think of it, I wish I held on to it as a second car, it was slow, but looking at it always put a smile on my face.

for me I've bought 2 max's, one 98 and the other my current 97, I would say that it moved me up a notch from my civic's 4 cylinder to a VQ, but I feel that I'm ready to move on to something bigger and better...

I love my maxima, but for me rwd and manual makes all the difference, my car is neither. One could be easily fixed, the other, never will be worth it.. that kinda leaves me lookin for another car.. prolly a 240sx s14 or even s13 those things can be sick!

Yup and for that reason the Evo, the STI, the BMW's are lower on the list. (cost of servicing if major problems occur).

Ya i get this feeling too. After my accident though ive been sitting for a month without it and im dying. Now I realize how much i enjoyed it. Also I would randomly ride in nicer cars like new Bmers and stuff but then I would ride in other cars like corolas and just think that its really not that bad. I think its a great car for its time and will last me for a while once i get it back from the shop.

His max looks a ton better than the VW. I see plenty of people post about how they're "moving on" to "better things" and such, and when they post which car they're buying I can't help but think it somewhat pointless. But whatever.

I love my Max. I just went from a Camry last summer and it was like night and day. So much faster and smoother. Only problem was that 30days after I got it. My headgear bearing toasted along with a few other manual tranny bearings. The thing that really sucked is that the car came with a 30day warranty. It's in the shop right now getting fixed and still drove very very strong even before going into the shop with the bad bearings.

Well there is also, bixenon projector retrofit. Custom LED exterior lighting all around i.e. taillights, bumpers, blinkers, corner lights. Custom foglight retrofit. ES motormount inserts. Blehmco LTB, SFC's. While you're suspension is nice there is still coilovers to upgrade to. CAM's, tuning, etc.

Except since you dn't drive your car daily your problem sounds more like when you walk out of your door, or into your garage (or wherever you store your maxima) you don't look at it and say "Wow!" I don't know how to help you there. Personally I would change your rims and get a more agressive body kit. Perhaps do interior LED swap. Find a more agressive spoiler.

That's becouse it's stock and I haven't started to mod it yet . As much as I have enjoyed the Maxima I want something newer. I bought the Max for my wife 6-7 years ago and took it over my old daily driver back in 02, when she got a new car. She has since had a second new car and thinking about the next one. I think it's about time for me to get something nice and new. The GTI works for me since #1 I work for VW #2 plenty of mods will be avabile in the future.... the only draw back in lack of LSD .... APRs chip bumps the car to 255hp and over 300 lb/ft with no other mods. I would get the R36 if I can swing the money 300hp and 300lb/ft AWD (projected hp/tq)

I didn't say that the car wasn't impressive number wise - I just look at your car cornering, and maybe I'm partial to the dark color, but your car just looks SLEEK. I agree, it's about time you got something new...

I traded in my Maxima in for a 97 4Runner Limited, and sometimes I do miss my Maxima. When I feel like driving fast, I really wish I had my Maxima. I might purchase a Maxima in the future, but it will most def. be an 02-03 6 Speed. My next car that I'm aiming for is a G35 Sedan 6 Speed.

Well actually that sig is really old. I had painted the altezzas. And then I got rid of them because they were all messed up.

Then I did the LED taillight mod on the stock tails. And then I switched to CustomMaximas red/clears. And those rims are old also. I now have the 18" 2003 G35 coupe wheels. I also now have Smoked Cefiro headlights and JDM bumper lights. With yellow bulbs in the bumper and corner lights.

here is a more recent photo but not quite totally up to date.

Well if you're looking to get more performance I'm not sure if you have headers but if not that would be a good idea. Other than that it seems the only thing left is to do internal work or FI, and probably a piggyback system seeing as a standalone costs around $5000. Which in either case I think FI would eventually lead to needing internal work anyway.

You could be the man and save up for the 4.3 stroker kit along with Nismo Spec II cams and then tune using the EU. I'm sure you'll feel like you have a new car after having that. And it will almost be like you bought one.

Am I tired of my max? Well after 5 years, I'm starting to teeter totter on that idea. I can't say I'm tired of it because it breaks down all the time..because it doesn't. I love the way it looks. I love that its paid for. And even for a little 6 banger, it's got some get up and go.

I get tired of it only because I want something new, but that doesn't last long.

If I want real speed and something new I just drive the 05 Hemi Dodge Ram for a couple of days.

If I really want to appreciate my max, I just drive my 87 Cutlass Supreme (with a 403) and listen to all the rattles, creaks and moans from that car, deal with carburetor and everything else - then I LOVE my max.

the only thing i have to complain about is the seats. there's not enough thigh-support!
i'm renting an 04 civic, & it's not nearly as fun as the max!

I have a question does anyone now how get these car to make some real power. I have a cai, budget y pipe, flow master muffler, drop mod res. I am currently looking into a higher flow fuel pump and throtle body. I would like to add a supercharger or turbo but it looks like stillen is the only company that makes anything and it's around 3grand and that without install, new injectors, fuel pump, and ecu programing and tuning which will cost well over 4000 total and only take you to 260hp at the wheels maybe which really not alot of power still
