I'm at 99,999.5 miles right now..I got sick of my old maxima a 95 neptune blue ( never should have gotten rid of it ). Went through like 3 cars and finally...went back to? A black maxima. The only thing I get sick of is the poor gas mileage..I did 85mph on a sentra and still got 34mpg..on reg gas..I was like holy ****!..I'm just going to drive it until it drives no more, or until I finish college!

I am tired of it. But I could never sell it. I really want a 6th gen with a 6 speed. But my 98 will have to do for now. I dont think ill ever buy a different car, as much as I have problems with my Maxima, its still great and I could never sell it, unless it was for an 06!

I love my max! Yeah she is getting older with almost 170,000 but she will see 200,000 easy. This car does not burn a drop of oil and still pulls strong. If the auto trans. holds up I think it would run forever. I have a baja bug for the off road fun aka (the money pit).

Yeah i wish i could drop the 3.5 vq in her cause she is a little sluggish at low rpm but that's ok because if it was a ford or chevy it would be blowing smoke and rattling valves just like all the other american junk. Why can't we build cars like the japenese? Don't get me wrong I love american cars but we all know there real nice for the first 50-60k, then they just fall apart. It's nothing for a nissan to see 150k plus and that's what i like. Getting your moneys worth

when i bought the car (04) - loved it
needed the rear main seal replaced - hated it
fixed rear main seal - loved it
car had a hard time starting (grounding problem) - hated it
had to drive moms xc70, gf's new beetle - couldnt wait to drive it again
fixed grounding problem - happy to have it back

it has decent power, but i wouldnt hate it if it had a little more. i was starting to think about forced induction until my dad and i picked up a new toy 2 weeks ago, #2... this is what is gonna get the fast parts instead of my car:

me taking a picture with my phones camera

my dad checking the undercarriage

72 vette (thats my car in the background of the second pic)... this is before we brought it home. now my forum name makes sense, doesn't it?

getting 22-24 mpg with the max will be great, compared to the single digits the vette will probably be getting once its done

You should know that 95-99 max is one of the lightest cars around with 205lbs of torque and 190hp. Now if you increase that with a 3.5VQ or turbo etc,
you have a real rocketship with 4 doors. It's all about hp to weight. Try racing a motorcycle

I love my car man...the only thing is, it's got 191500 kilometers, it's auto, it's got a little rust, it rattles a little, needs speakers and the leather is going on the front seats and done on the steering wheel. Ohh and my front wheel bearings. I plan to fix the rust and the bearings, sell the car and find another 4th gen, a 98. SE BLK/BLK like mine, and start from the ground up. If I don't do that, I have to fix everything and convert it to 5sp. If I can get the parts for dirt cheap, i'll do the work myself. So I don't care, it's the body that worries me. I'm looking at least $6000 grand with rim Am I disappointed yes, but the Max is such a beatiful car. It didn't classify as a **** box yet and won't for a while. I'll keep it as a show car and have a daily driver, then get another car, maybe sports car. But the Max will always have a place in my garage.

I have owned a 85 and a 2000 mustang gt both with well over 200hp each. Do i miss the v8 torque and power? He** yes!! But my max has given me more satisfaction then either of the two. Any yes I did own a honda to.

Plus the 6th gen. max has more hp than the 99-04 mustangs. Just something to think about.

almost got rid of mine for something newer, but decided to keep it as a beater and got an s2000. now a few months later the max is getting all temperamental and won't start right, hope to get that fixed soon. it really is a great car though.

i love it but right now i could care less. last summer it seemed like all i wanted to do was get my money and blow it on my max. then i did the cefiros. they look hot from a distance. i can't get them to line up and look good. i like the look they give, but for the money i don't think they are worth it. and my modding has been pretty stagnant, except for the y-pipe, straight cat and flowmaster in November, but i need rims. BAD. after i get some chromies i'll be in love again. however, i have noticed that the more you put into your car effort wise- the more you get out of it aka appreciation for it. at least thats the way i see it- the only problem is effort sometimes isn't cheap
