anybody else tired of their max?

I am fed up with all the little things that need to be done to make the way I want when newer cars come that way already...like amenities of all kinds! But my soul is tatooed to the Nissan Maxima...

Same here. My car is starting to show it's miles. Has 176,000 on it. Too many things keep going wrong with it. Even though most of them are minor, they keep adding up before I can get the money to get them fixed.

The VQ motor is bullet proof, not sure how you can get sick of incredible reliability. Not too many people can say it's starting to show its miles at 176,000 most other cars would be sitting in the junk yard at that mileage. Sure when you get used to something it can always get old and boring, but with very low maintenance cost's and still incredible looks for a 10 year old car, I am happy with the Max. Plus little bolt on's here and there and seeing / feeling the difference always keeps me grining. Sure a newer car would be nice, but the payment plus insurance would just make me even more unhappy!

However, sometimes I feel like I wish my max was faster... and then other times I understand why they call her a 4dsc.

ok guys you are missing the point. all of the replies so far have been how things are breaking down but what about the car itself?

I kinda did that, except it was a 4 cylinder Camry loaner from work while i waited on my insurance check from a lil highway mishap,(Drove it for 3 weeks, 790miles, 3.5 full tanks) and I would fill it up on 87octane and get BETTER MPG on a full tank compared to 93 Premium on my max, Things are startin to creek and crackle and rumble that bug the **** out of me, But the biggest bone i have to pick with the max is the MPG, i mean i drive 70miles every (35 to work, 35 back) And having to fill up EVERY 6 DAYS is hard.( I Seafomed the crap out of it last summer, changed fuel/air filter) and cleaned TB. I'm waitin for my tax returns, fix 2 major problems with the car (passenger axle and minor tune up) and try to sell it, then get a 06 V6 Camry cuz when the new design comes out, the old body styles are gonne HAVE TO be sold for dirty cheap to get them off the lot.

its not that i am sick of my max because i love it...its just that some of the go fast mods are getting harder to come by and it seems price keeps going up...i wish Fast ans the Furious gave maximas the kind of support it gave civics

... ...
:not me Considering the price/power/looks, I can't complain for the price I paid for both of mine, I'm still under 30k.

I've been trying to find out if the max was modded or not. From the pictures i wouldn't expect anything other then everything from the stillen site at most. But seemed more like a stocker.
Oh as for the maxima, I wish it was a 5-speed, but overall i love it. This site teaches you more then some other sites out there. Even tho i'm looking at a 2nd car for the summer.

I will be re-energized once I get my suspension in over Spring Break, as well as a long deserved y-pipe. Just having my struts and springs sitting in my garage has gotten me excited to own a Maxima again.

not tired with my car.....jeez, i'm barely even STARTED with the damn car...
maybe in 2 years when the thing's running 11's i'll have something to say about it..but until then, it's my cool little grocery getter that gets the b*tches.

I am getting tired of mine, but I will keep it until it dies on me. I lowered the car for handling and because the gap looks like azz, but now the interior rattles so bad that it feels like it is falling apart.

I just turn the music louder...the only thing that rattles is my trunk...

It all depends on what the fun factor equals up for you. For me as I get older, the fun factor is a daily reliable car that when I go out to in the morning will start up without any problems. Then of course on nice weather weekend days I want something that can take into the twisties, accelerate with breathe taking response, and out perform someone that wants to toy with you. But it seems that most people want McLaren F1 performance with Honda Civic pricing. It just doesn't work that way unfortunately, it is all supply and demand. Lets face it, before us Maxima Freaks, the Nissan Maxima was built as a 4 door family sedan with good reliability. But as time went on we saw it as sweet potential as a complete sleeper with great engine capability, great handling once tweaked, and a huge fun factor with that great reliability as well. If you want something that will put a smile on your face for those weekend blasts, buy a high end sports car. But for all around reliability, fun, spaciousness, and a grin when she fires up perectly with 300,000 miles on it, stick with the Maxima!
