pics of my E46 xenon projector retrofit...

Took some time and patience, but it is finally done. Did it in little steps over the last week or 2.

I am using Matsush!tsa Ballasts from a 2004 Nissan 350Z to power them that are currently wired in my car. These projectors will be paired with a set of D2S Philips 4300k HID Bulbs. The Projectors are Bosch single xenons from an E46 BMW 3 series. I also used the bezel from the E46 BMW too. I had refinished the lens of the oem headlamps (they were old pitted/sandblasted headlamps from a '98 ). Tell me what you think...

how the heck did you refinish your lenses to look like that? They look so damn nice, so damn clear!

BTW, very nice job, looks killer with that bezel reading 'XENON' on it...

I have already test fitted it before painting and finishing the install...that took a while. now I am going to rely on the stock adjusting screws for minor adjustments.

You know, I just realized that I can go single xenon and use my running/driving lights as high beams.

..........hmmmmmmmm.

P.S. badass setup, very very nice, and good job buffing. I wetsanded mine awhile ago, but never got all the haze out even through my liberal application of polish. What polishing product did you use?

And obviously, installed pics and cutoff pics are now obligatory. obviously.

Man, that's a clean retrofit. I was having debates w/ myself on weather I wanna black out my headlamps. After seeing yours I'm gonna have to. The headlamps look mean! I like it. Kudos my friend.

Are they aimed correctly?

As I already said....hot!

You need to try and make it to the meet next week and show them off! The price doesn't sound too bad...I thought they would be much more.

Don't think you can do that...you won't pass inspection without HIGH beams....unless you plan on putting them in the same housing.

I was wondering the same thing and forgot to mention it in my original post. You have projectors...why not use D2S?

you can scrape away the ceramic coating carefully, and make your output slightly brighter.

I believe you are correct - Im almost 99% sure you have to have high beams of some sort to pass inspection (at least here in NC, im not sure if it varies from state to state). I guess the reasoning behind it is if you need to signal to other drivers or maybe safety on back roads

retrofit looks beautiful. Very clean, and will look amazing on the front of you car.

Post a pic of them installed, I think smoked clear corners to semi match will give a good look to the front of you car. I'll photoshop something up once you post pics.

the more retrofits I see the more and more I want to do some.

Damn, I posted D2R by accident...I meant D2S. Let me edit my original post. I have a set of D2R's from a 350z which I will be selling soon.
