E-brake light stuck on

... it doesn't seem like the car is being held back or anything, so it doesn't seem like it a physical issue (like with the brake line vs electrical), but it must be, cus it really only happens when its cold. Anyone else have this problem?

i had this happen once before on a really cold morning. check your fluid for the hell of it, and if its at a good level go on a long straight street and go up to atleast 40 and brake hard. not hard enough to leave a skid strip.
If the light is still on, it might be you need new brakes. Mine were done 2 days after this happened.

Brake fluid levels drop when it is cold. If you look at the resevour or whatever then you will see (hot-high, hot-low, cold-high, cold-low). Since it is getting cold, the levels are out-of-wack I guess. Just drop some of the recommended stuff in the fluid forum and you should be good to go.

Only three things trigger that light.

Parking brake, low fluid, and hydraulic circuit failure.

Diagnosis is easy, keeping that in mind.

Brake light on, humm, check the air conditioner... yea thats it...

I wonder what you'd check if the low washer fluid light came on?
Oh wait, I know.... that would be the blinkers.

Might be the switch on the actual ebrake under the center console... thats what the problem was on my friends 96.

This happened to me a week ago.. Turned out I was just really low on brake fluid, so it's no big deal. Or it could also mean you need to replace your brakes..
