sorry to see a fallen max. glad to hear that you're ok. as far as putting money into it... either take the insurance check or buy it back to part out. not worth fixing imo

well, assuming that the police report says that it was the other guy's fault, then just take the check n buy another max. Start finding another max, n if his insurance doesn't give you enough money, don't take the check yet n haggle with them. Believe it or not, but you can haggle with them and tell them that with the money they gave you, its not enough to buy another max that is pretty close to what urs was. Year and mileage....

how clean is ur insurance history? I gotta assume that if its one of the only violations/accidents... scars (to put it simply haha) you've ever had, then i gotta believe you could get more money out of the insurance, along the lines of what . ImmaSwuashYou . said.

How did u acquire the car? If you bought it, how much did u actually pay for it, and what did u write on the paperwork at the DMV? If you try tellin them that its worth $5,000 and u only paid / wrote down somethin like $3,000 ... ur chance at gettin more is slim to none.

I know you are attached to your Max. Although it seems bad because you made it your own, there are plenty of used max's around to pick up. Focus on getting the most you can out of the insurance company. Try and find any receipts or pics to support the money you put into the car. Sure glad you came out OK

looks pretty bad, but it does seem like it was the other guys fault. So like the others said, haggle and try to get a bit more out of the insurance. sucks about the damage.
