Help with security system..

Hey guys, I need some help with the factory security system. Before, once the vehicle was locked and I tried to open it without the key or fob the alarm would go off. But now it doesn't do anything. I think I read somewhere that the security light stays on for about 30 seconds before it arms but my light just constantly blinks as soon as the doors are locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello:

I have been trying to repair my factory system, but don't want to relay too much information online for theives to access, ya know?

I can tell you this, if your dash light continues to blink constantly once you arm the system, you have a breach/short in one of the doors, the hood or the trunk. My short ended up being in the trunk switch.

First off, check all the doors -- open each one at a time and press the door jam light switch flat and see if the interior light goes out. Then, check the hood switch and see if the connections are all clean. Finally, open the trunk and use a flat screwdriver to latch the trunk latch (don't worry, you can unlatch it by pressing the black rubber lever on the latch) and see if the trunk light goes out. If the light stays on, then your trunk switch is either dirty or defective. Start there and PM me if you still have a problem.

Good luck!!!

Once you arm the vehicle, the security light should remain on for about 30 seconds, and once the time frame passed the 30 seconds, the light will began flashing. That means the vechile is complete armed.
